Disney Kicks Off Second Phase of #ShareYourEars Campaign

Earlier this month, The Walt Disney Company invited fans to #ShareYourEars to help grant life-changing wishes for kids with critical illnesses around the world. On Friday, November 16, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek appeared on Good Morning America to announce that Disney will add a second phase to this year’s #ShareYourEars campaign in honor of Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary. The festivities continued on Saturday, as fans attending D23: The Official Disney Fan Club’s event, Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse joined Chapek for what is undoubtedly the world’s biggest #ShareYourEars photo.

From now through Giving Tuesday on November 27, 2018, participants can take a photo showing off their “Mickey Mouse ears”—or any creative “ears”—and upload to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. For every public post with #ShareYourEars, Disney will donate US $5 to Make-A Wish, up to US $1 million.

This marks the third year in a row that Disney has run this campaign with Make-A-Wish. It continues a 40-year partnership in which Disney has helped grant more than 130,000 wishes. Share Your Ears is part of the Disney Team of Heroes philanthropic initiative and outreach program, which launched in March 2018 to deliver comfort and inspiration to families around the world. As part of The Walt Disney Company’s five-year, US $100 million commitment to reinvent the patient and family experience in children’s hospitals, Disney is working with children’s wish-granting organizations around the world to fulfill wishes for children facing serious illnesses.
