Disney and Make-A-Wish Singapore Grant Chace’s Beauty & the Beast-Inspired Wish

Make a Wish kid Chace shakes hands with Broadway The Beast

Eight-year-old Chace from Singapore always hoped that one day, he’d meet his favorite Disney character, Beast. As a big fan of Beauty & the Beast, Chace found  inspiration in Beast’s strength and vulnerability, especially during his own battle with neuroblastoma and ganglioneuroblastoma.

Arranging a meeting with Beast would be no easy feat. But when Disney’s brand-new production of Beauty and the Beast arrived in Singapore last December, the musical’s only stop in Asia, it opened the door for a once-in-a-lifetime moment — a chance for Chace to ‘Be Our Guest’!

Together with Make-A-Wish Singapore, and in collaboration with Base Entertainment and Swissôtel The Stamford, Disney granted Chace’s wish  with an experience that brought the fairytale to life.

To kick off the wish experience, Swissotel sponsored an all-inclusive hotel stay for Chace and his family. The excitement that came with the build-up to the big day was massive.

“He was full of anticipation while counting down to his wish and spoke of it constantly,” shared Chace’s mother, Vicki. “It became part of our everyday conversations.”

On his wish day, Chace stepped into the shoes of his favorite character, transforming into Beast with a custom-tailored ensemble made just for him. He also received a one-of-a-kind plush toy inspired by his very own drawing! While he was getting ready, Make-A-Wish Singapore wish granters and Disney VoluntEARS worked together to enhance the wish experience and set up a “Be My Guest”-inspired lunch for his friends and family.

To add to the surprise, Chace received a personal video message from the actor who plays Beast in the musical, Brendan Xavier, who told Chace that he was looking forward to meeting him after the show!

Chace and his family enjoyed front-row seats at the Beauty and the Beast musical and were brought backstage for a meet-and-greet with Brendan and Shubshri Kandiah, who plays Belle. While reflecting upon the wish experience, Vicki shared, iIt was so heartening to see Chace’s smile light up the room and how he walked everywhere with a spring in his step.”
