Disney Transforms Learning Center for Critically Ill Children in Thailand Hospital

The Walt Disney Company and King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH), The Thai Red Cross Society unveiled a reimagined learning center to enrich the learning journeys of critically ill children of all ages. The refurbished center features murals of beloved Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters; a technology area to facilitate learning via iPads; as well as a dedicated play area and reading zones.

The collaborative effort is aimed at creating a vibrant and conducive learning environment that can ease the anxiety of hospital stays and enable a captivating and joyful learning experience for critically ill children at KCMH.

“This effort comes as part of the visionary efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, as an Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society, to integrate information technology into education. Through this project, we hope to nurture imaginative thinking and innovative ideas and cultivate a captivating and joyful learning journey”, said Associate Professor Chanchai Sittipunt, Director of KCMH/Thai Red Cross Society and Dean of Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Medicine.

To commemorate the launch of this refurbished learning center, Associate Professor Rattaplee Pak-art MD, FACS, Deputy Director for Supporting services, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, The Thai Red Cross Society, alongside the KMCH management team, took part in a celebratory event on the 12th floor of Chulalongkorn Hospital on September 4th, 2023.
