Disney Recognized by the Environmental Media Association for Sustainable Production and Storytelling

Environmental Sustainability & Nature
January 15, 2025
The Environmental Media Association (EMA) recognizes and showcases businesses in the entertainment industry that have sustainability as part of their culture by telling their stories and creating a standard for others to strive toward.
EMA also hosts the annual EMA Awards to celebrate environmental storytelling and sustainable production in the industry. At the 2024 ceremony, Disney received numerous accolades including the EMA award for Children’s Series for “A Real Bug’s Life,” a Disney+ Original Series from National Geographic.

The docuseries, which premiered last year, is an incredible adventure inspired by Disney and Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life.” Narrated by Awkwafina, it follows nine different micro bug worlds around the globe, where the forces of nature play out on a miniature scale and where tiny creatures rely on amazing powers and extraordinary alliances to make it through each day.
Season 2 of “A Real Bug’s Life,” bigger and bolder than ever, premiered on January 15, 2025. Both seasons are now available on Disney+.
Additionally, EMA also recognizes productions for their progress in sustainable efforts on their sets with a Green Seal. These efforts include waste management, energy efficiency, pollution reduction, and more. For productions that show exceptional sustainability work, they receive a Gold Seal recognition. Across The Walt Disney Company, we received a total of 26 Gold Seal and 15 Green Seal awards.
