Disney and Starlight Children’s Foundation Celebrate World Princess Week with Patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital

Disney and Starlight Children’s Foundation® celebrated the start of World Princess Week with an event for patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital that unveiled a new design for Disney Princess-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns, a new Disney Princess augmented reality (AR) experience, a delivery of Disney Princess-themed toys and books, and a surprise visit from Princess Jasmine herself.

Inspired by Disney’s Jasmine, the newest design joins the existing line of Disney Princess-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns. These designs allow children in hospitals to channel the courageous, positive spirit of their favorite Disney Princess character, inspiring confidence and comfort during their hospital stay. In a rare hospital setting appearance, Princess Jasmine herself visited with the patients to celebrate World Princess Week and the gown’s launch. The gown’s creator, Character Art Designer Bryan L. Mon, also attended and taught the patients how to draw some favorite Disney characters.

The brand-new Portal to the Princesses AR experience was also featured at the event. This new virtual offering allows patients, and families at home, to interact with beloved Disney Princess characters – Ariel, Moana, Tiana and Rapunzel – on mobile devices.

For generations, Disney Princess characters have inspired fans to be true to their heart, dig a little deeper, and see how far they’ll go. The event at Seattle Children’s coincides with the launch of “Create Your World,” a multi-year Disney Princess campaign featuring theatrical and streaming content, Disney Parks experiences, new music cover releases, consumer products, and more, to encourage fans of all ages, everywhere, to discover their own brand of Princess magic that lies within them.

Disney and Starlight are bringing the magic of “Create Your World” to 300 children’s hospitals and pediatric places of care across the United States through princess-themed deliveries like the one at Seattle Children’s.
