Disney Supports Educators to Celebrate Abbott Elementary Season 3

As the award-winning Abbott Elementary kicked off its third season, The Walt Disney Company and ABC organized a nationwide tour and donation to recognize and support Title I schools and educators. 

What is Abbott Elementary?  

Abbott Elementary is a workplace comedy centered around dedicated, passionate teachers in a Philadelphia public school. Over the course of its two Emmy, NAACP, Golden Globe and SAG award-winning seasons, the show has drawn attention to the overcrowding and lack of funding public schools often face. As Abbott Elementary launches its third season, Disney and ABC continue to use the show as a platform to recognize and support public school teachers. 

Lunch Break with Abbott Elementary National Tour 

As part of Abbott Elementary Season 3 festivities, hundreds of educators from Title I schools across 18 states received meals and school supplies as part of the “Lunch Break with Abbott Elementary National Tour.” Teachers were treated to goodie bags from an Abbott Elementary themed mobile “lunchbox” which pulled up to school parking lots along its cross-country journey. The tour began in New York and finished in Los Angeles, distributing over 10,000 meals and school supply items.

Disney donates to DonorsChoose 

In addition to the tour, ABC donated to DonorsChoose, a nonprofit organization which ensures that students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education. The donation will fund 38 classroom projects providing access to STEM and Literacy enrichment for students in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Philadelphia, and Atlanta.  

The donation to DonorsChoose is part of The Walt Disney Company’s commitment to empowering the next generation of storytellers and innovators through the Disney Future Storytellers initiative. From arts and STEM education for school-age children, to scholarships, mentoring and technical skill-building for teens and young adults, Disney is helping today’s youth dream about their future, build their talents and skills, and become who they imagine they can be.  

Season 3 of Abbott Elementary began airing February 7th on ABC and is streaming now on Hulu.
